So, my favorite “small” person turned a whopping two years old a little over a week ago! While she may be small in stature, she’s humongous in personality and sweetness and cuteness!
Parents who have journeyed this path ahead of me have told me on so many occasions, “don’t blink, because they grow up way too fast!” I’m beginning to feel the weight and truth of their words! How is it possible, that in the span of just two years, this person … this tiny, yet humongous person … has managed to grab me by the heart with such a strong hold! And how are we in this thing called parenthood two years already? “Seems like just yesterday …” apparently, these are very common sentiments!
So, yes … my baby turned two! We had a party! A big party! We had almost 30 people in our house and our house isn’t huge … especially when you add all those people along with the already-existing two large dogs.
And Martha Stewart made an appearance (she took over my body a couple weeks). At first, I was giving myself a little grief for spending so much time and effort planning a birthday party for a TWO-YEAR-OLD! “Seriously, Jen … she’s TWO … she won’t remember.” But then I realized I can do whatever I want to celebrate her little life and the amazing, life-altering impact she’s made on her dad and me. And if that means losing a little sleep and a little time planned for other things and looking like I’m going a little over the top … well, so be it! Plus … we’ll have the pictures! 🙂 Just because she’s small, doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve something big! Afterall, “A person’s a person, no matter how small!” – Dr. Seuss, Horton Hears a Who!
Here’s a super cool slideshow of some of the highlights of her day. I WILL be posting a collage or two of some of my favorites, but one thing at a time! (Oh, and fair warning … there’s music, so adjust your volume appropriately!)
Have I mentioned I adore this child?
