Jen Wood Photography bio picture

Hi ...

A little about me: I am completely in love with my sweet husband (Jeff), our beautiful daughter (London), our dogs (Jack and Morgan), and our life.  My other loves (in no particular order): family, spending time with great friends, warm socks, hot baths, traveling, camping, campfires, the great outdoors, autumn, being out on the lake, fishing (when we're catching something), 80s music, my girl's sweet and contagious smile, wine, my own caesar salads, laughing and then laughing some more. I am genuine. I am sentimental, often to the point of total sappiness. I am passionate about photography and have been for over 30 years (wow, maybe that dates me a little).

It is my hope to not only share with you some of the work that I'm doing and show off my awesome clients, but also to let you into my life just a little.  It's hard for me to find time to work on personal things when there is real work to be done, but I'm going to try ... really, I am.

So, sit back and peruse these pages.  If you see something you like, please leave a comment. Who doesn't like a little blog love?  If you'd like to be notified when something new has been added, please feel free to subscribe to the blog (RSS or email) above.  Thanks for stopping by!

Horton Hears a Who and London Just Turned TWO!

So, my favorite “small” person turned a whopping two years old a little over a week ago!  While she may be small in stature, she’s humongous in personality and sweetness and cuteness!

Parents who have journeyed this path ahead of me have told me on so many occasions, “don’t blink, because they grow up way too fast!”  I’m beginning to feel the weight and truth of their words!  How is it possible, that in the span of just two years, this person … this tiny, yet humongous person … has managed to grab me by the heart with such a strong hold! And how are we in this thing called parenthood two years already? “Seems like just yesterday …” apparently, these are very common sentiments!

So, yes … my baby turned two!  We had a party!  A big party!  We had almost 30 people in our house and our house isn’t huge … especially when you add all those people along with the already-existing two large dogs.

And Martha Stewart made an appearance (she took over my body a couple weeks).  At first, I was giving myself a little grief for spending so much time and effort planning a birthday party for a TWO-YEAR-OLD! “Seriously, Jen … she’s TWO … she won’t remember.”  But then I realized I can do whatever I want to celebrate her little life and the amazing, life-altering impact she’s made on her dad and me.  And if that means losing a little sleep and a little time planned for other things and looking like I’m going a little over the top … well, so be it!  Plus … we’ll have the pictures! 🙂  Just because she’s small, doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve something big!  Afterall, “A person’s a person, no matter how small!” – Dr. Seuss, Horton Hears a Who!

Here’s a super cool slideshow of some of the highlights of her day.  I WILL be posting a collage or two of some of my favorites, but one thing at a time! (Oh, and fair warning … there’s music, so adjust your volume appropriately!)

Have I mentioned I adore this child?

- Amy McCart - What a great video Jen!! Such a fun way to capture and save all the fun memories to watch years down the road!! :) Great job! It was awesome!!

- Amy McCart - PS - I totally am wanting a cake pop right now!!!! #latenightcraving - I guess it's too late to start baking?? 11pm? ha!

- Toni - What a wonderful party! I loved the Horton theme, especially the clover. I am actually working on my Masters in Counseling and had some theraputic ideas regarding Horton and his search for "THE" clover. I was doing a search for some images around that and came across your site. Would you be willing to share how you made the pink fuzzy clovers as well as the clover hanging from the ceiling. I would be extremely grateful for any assistance you would be willing to offer me. Thank you
