Nashville Flood

The last two days have been insane with all the horrible weather and flooding going on in Nashville.  Historic rain amounts have flooded creeks and rivers causing major flooding all over the city and outlying areas.  All three interstates running through the city have been closed at one point or another.  Thankfully, we escaped any damage.  I am so grateful, especially seeing how many people and homes have been affected.  The waters threatened to flood our subdivision, but we’re JUST high enough I guess.  It did flood all around us however, as Mill Creek, one of the major creeks causing all of this, runs the boundary of our subdivision.  It merely flooded the common area, which is right across the street from our house, and all roads leading in and out of here.  We can’t get out.  As far as I know, no homes in our subdivision were damaged.

Here are a couple images I took on Saturday evening during a lull in the rain.

These are looking north on Old Hickory Boulevard, right outside the entrance to our subdivision. Mill Creek runs under a bridge up ahead that you can no longer see in these shots.

These next couple are of the common area that is right across the street from us.

Thankfully, the rain has ended and the next couple of days should be dry.  Please keep the people of Nashville in your prayers as the clean-up effort begins.
